About this tool
Watermarks make it clear that a document is a draft, a copy or confidential, and discourage people from passing it on as their own. A diagonal mark across the middle is hardest to crop out. The repeated pattern covers the whole page.
The text sits on top of each page at the transparency you choose, so the content underneath stays readable. Nothing is uploaded.
Questions
Can I use any text?
Yes, up to 60 characters. Letters with accents used in European languages work. Other alphabets aren't supported yet and will show as question marks.
Can people remove the watermark?
Someone with PDF editing software could remove it with effort. For stronger protection, use the Smallest level in Compress PDF afterwards, which flattens each page into an image.
Will the watermark cover my content?
It's semi-transparent, so the text underneath can still be read. Choose Faint if you want it lighter.
Is my document safe?
Yes. The watermark is added on your own device and the file is never uploaded.
